A community interest company is a special form of limited company, which exists primarily to benefit a community or with a view to pursuing a social purpose, rather than to make a profit for shareholders.
Who do we serve?
Our CIC is dedicated to supporting three key communities - students, teachers, and the wider public - by promoting awareness and understanding of energy and climate change.

How do we do it?
Through supplying Megawatt to schools and the wider public, delivering interactive sessions in schools, and by continuing to develop Megawatt and supporting resources to ensure they continue to meet the needs of our target communities.

By promoting science literacy and inspiring the next generation to pursue STEM careers, we benefit all people in society. The students we reach will be better informed about the net zero challenge and better placed to make informed decisions in the future.
Planet
A sustainable energy system is essential for the wellbeing of our planet. Megawatt demonstrates the challenges faced and players explore different solutions. Our business minimises its environmental impact and through our charity donations, we have planted over 100,000 trees - see below for more info.
Profit
​As a Community Interest Company, we are committed to reinvesting all our profits for the benefit of our community. As our reach grows, we will continue to put our mission first and help change the world one bit at a time.
Charity Donations
Since the company was founded in 2019, we have donated enough money to Eden Reforestation Projects to plant 100,000 trees! We are passionate about building a sustainable world and therefore we strive to be a purpose-driven company with a net benefit on the planet. We do this through actions, not words.

We have recently paused our charity donations while we focus on growing our company. Once we restart our donations, we will be on the lookout for new charity partnerships.
